Back in the 70’s, there were a lot of revolutionary moves in politics, cinema and music. The Godfather masterpiece was released, we crossed to the other side of the canal, saw the dark side of the moon and Michael Jackson emerged to change the musical scene!
With such a revolution, great changes and big moves occur in every aspect of life, including the environmental movement, the fight for women’s rights, anti-war movements, and post-civil rights movements for people of color.
One of the most significant movements in this decade was in advertising and marketing, where the introduction of technology and changes in customer behavior led to a significant shift in the industry, with ads becoming more consumer-centric, edgy, and sentimental rather than product-focused.
It also saw the birth of competitor brand positioning and brand wars in advertising (direct/indirect).
